CONDITIONING

Getting In Shape and the Long Road Ahead! - May 25, 2007

I don't usually post may photos like this, but I thought it interesting
to see how many had just got started again, to get themselves back
in shape. After reading some other blogs about running in this same
Blogger network, some more actively competitive athletes / runners
talk about the difficulties they are having. One runner from a blog
called, "a trail runners blog", who is reknown for Marathon, Ironman,
Ultrarunner, and Trail Running races talks of his setbacks from
injuries. I find that he, along with us, are struggling with a geriatric
problem. Getting in shape and conditioning requires good planning.
First, know your enemy: age / time (it's tooo old)
Second, proper nutrition. (know yourself / honest assessment / needs)
Third, it's a Long Road Ahead; it's a LIFEstyle (commitment,
perseverence, persistence, faithfulness, endurance ...)
Fourth, Be Patient! (forget the Futility!)
Fifth, Recuperate, also recuperative workouts. Replenish your body.

Quoting the East Germans from the late 1970's and early 1980's,
"Every athlete in America, over-trains!" Training hard builds
character. Character I have (I was a former college and AAU wrestler).
As a college wrestler, I/we did plenty of running. I ran over 40 miles
per week and that includes the running during practice ..even stairs.
The East Germans had sports science in the making and proved it by
dominating many events in the Olympics.

* Over-training defeats your own purpose. Over-training is futilty! *

Keep it up big guy! I hope he continues. That's how I started to
drop the weight. "I needed to slim down" at the beginning, then
work on the muscle building. (BodyType-C Meso-Endo SWBMO)
That's for those on Michael Thurmond's Six Week Body MakeOver
Plan (SWBMO or 6WBMO).

STRETCHING THOSE MUSCLES

I had a very refreshing time at the Park up the road
from my house. Despite the hazy skies from all the
brush fires here in South Florida, I had a wonderful
running session this afternoon. I found a groove and
kept that pace for the full session. It was one of those
moments of solitude; a time just for yourself to be
able to have great thoughts that reinforce a personal
dream; and get some fresh air (no play on words).
What I mean is; some breathing room to think and
dream. Not to mention anything about the reknown
endorphines that come from running and exercise.
Exhilarating == Springtime.

This Video Does NOT Work! .......................... Prayer

I went on another blog site this week and found this
this file wasn't working properly. After being driven
all morning long and into the afternoon, the file still
couldn't be found functional. What had led me to this
particular video was my search word(s). The title and
theme of this video blog was "Running because I love it!"
Then I realized, after all that searching, I need to go do
some running! -LAF

....And the greatest of these is: ----------------------- LOVE
