I DID IT!

I DID IT! - Well, I did what I set out to do! _ And more. The weather stayed nice,
though
in the Northeast some threatening dark clouds seem to come out of nowhere.
It Didn't rain. I get concerned for my new pair of
'New Balance'
running shoes I received for Christmas.
As a Collegiate
Wrestler, I used to run over 40 miles a
week and never
owned a pair of 'New Balance'. Let me
fill you in; I wore
them out to dinner first, while they
were still pretty new looking. They can cost about the
same as a new pair of
Florsheim.

Ok, here's the facts. I measured the distance of the running
trail by counting steps/paces around the trail. I figured
approximately 3 feet per step/pace or 1 meter. At about a
half-way marker, I had counted 440 paces.
That's approximately 1/4 mile. The second half was nearly the same; 450 paces.
Another
1/4 mile. So, that figures to approximately 1/2 mile per lap.
( 1 Lap == 1/2 Mile) or ( 2 Laps == 1 Mile).
So this is what I had did:
WARMUP: walked 2 Laps

EXERCISE: Jogged 4 Laps
COOLDOWN: walked 2 Laps.
TOTAL: 4 Miles

"In the beginning God created..."
Gen. 1:1
God said, "Let there be Joe. Let us
create Joe in our image."
When you go to a Park, most sites
say something in the order of
a Preserve or Recreation Park. You
notice part of the word in recreation?
Right! 'Creation' That's the point of
creation in the picture/painting.
Well, it's back to the drawing board.
It would be nice to have those 6-pack
Abs ready for the summer. If I ever get
time to go to the beach this year.
Hurricane Wilma really messed things
up for us in South Florida. It's been
since October that I haven't been
exercising or running regularly.

I need to remind myself to start some bodyshaping and bodysculpting routines.
I have some exercise bands and they don't seem to awkward to carry to the Park
either. Just wrap them around your waist and walk. With one pair of warmup
pants, the handles would fit into the pockets and I could even jog with it tied
around my waist.
Remember: Muscle burns fat more readily and efficiently.

GETTING PSYCHED UP

Read About This Girl's Running Habits
PSYCH'D UP - I got some rest, my legs are kinda stiff, but I must press on. With some
good stretching, I should be able to get a session (hopefully) in this afternoon/evening.
If the weather stays nice, I will place most of my emphasis on running. Those stair-
stepper reps I did at one of the stations, at the Park, really did the trick. My whole leg(s)
got a great workout. Now I need to tell my legs why I am working them so hard. For
stronger running. Again, that isn't me running in the picture. When I get my Digital
Camera. -And a camera that functions with windows, Picasa, Hello and any part of the
computer drivers & USB.

I feel like John Wayne in the movie, 'Blue Angels', when he said, "I'm gonna move that toe! I gotta move that toe!"

STAY FIT

STAYING FIT - It's been a few years, but that's ok. Trying to stay in shape despite all the interruptions and things we can even call legitimate excuses ... seems near impossible. Well, we'll see about that.

My Defensive Football Coach, Jim Moses used to say, "Horse S# ! t". When we started our 12 minute jog at the beginning of practice, the Head Coach, Vince Zapone, would just say, "Chop chop! Baby, Chop chop!"

Well, this BLOG (where did that word come from?) will be dedicated to fitness enthusiasts, exercise fanatics, and even those with a 'new-found purpose', such as the "Run for Leukemia" or any disease/sickness/hardship.
No, that is not me in the photo on the left. I'm a male. It just looked like me (in spirit) the first day I started back. So much for extenuating circumstances. It seems there's no room for excuses, we just pick ourselves up by the boot straps and press forward. We do have understanding though. Thank God!

I was reading a Post on a Forum, who's owner is a competitor in women's fitness, bodyshaping, and bodybuilding. The Forum is very inspirational and this article (originally written by Dave Draper, a bodybuilding champion) made a point about the excuses we make and how we need to overcome all obstacles and hindrances. Maria Warren's Forum spoke of her recent experience competing in a bodybuilding contest hosted in another state.

Anyway, I welcome [C]omments. I hope to get a Digital Camera soon, so I can start to take pictures for things like this. Like to show progress ... WHICH THERE SHOULD BE! -Laf Ok, so I want results. .... That's right! I WANT RESULTS!
